I graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College
of Art and Design in Dundee in 1998. I studied Jewellery and Metalwork
at Degree level and was awarded First Class Honours. I went on to
start my business, Emma Jay Jewellery. I design and make contemporary
jewellery, which is sold through galleries and specialist shops
all over the U.K. I began to make Tiaras after deciding to get married
myself! I realised that although there are lots of beautiful gowns
available, most tiaras are very traditional and fussy. There seemed
to be a lack of simple, stylish designs. I launched my designs at
'The National Wedding Show' at the N.E.C. in Birmingham in October
2001 and have been deluged with enquiries ever since. All my designs
are handmade to order and are made in solid silver, if gold is required
then I make the tiara in Silver first and then have it plated in
22ct Gold. The Tiaras are designed with ergonomic bases that fit
perfectly on any head, they also all have loops to secure them with
hair grips, so they will be comfortable and secure all day long.
